Solar Cell Lab

Silicon is the most ideal material to make solar cells. But because of the high price, it is difficult to be wildly applied. Therefore, in the lab, we use titanium dioxide (raw materials for cosmetics and paints) to make the solar cells. Through the experiment, you will learn about the structure of solar cells, the principle of photoelectric conversion and solar energy technology. As you understand the close relationship between energy and sustainable development of human beings, you may grow interest in exploration of renewable energy.

The lab is open for group reservation. Each lab session is held for less than 50 participants for about two hours. The lab is closed on Mondays and holidays, and the time and place for lab sessions are 9:30-11:30 and 14:30-16:30 at the Open Lab on 4F.
